 Area of Production

Built in 1873 by Viollet Leduc who is known for restoring the famous Cathedral Notre Dame in Paris. Belongs since 1902 to the Darriens family.
Area of production  : Beaujolais Highlands, village of Saint Vérand located in the the northern part of Beaujolais.
Vineyard surface  : 4.3 hectares
Soil  : Limestone
Winemaking  : Grapes harvested excluvely by hand. Traditional Beaujolais winemaking whole bunches loaded in fermentation tank, without being stemmed crushed. Fermentation for 5 to 6 days with pumping over twice a day for good extraction of colour and gamay aromas. Pressing, end of alcoholic fermentation followed by malolactic fermentation.


Tasting characteristics

Bright red colour. Fresh smell and taste of small red fruits. Well rounded and smooth. Served chilled (12-13°C), it can be enjoyed on its own.
It is also the perfect companion for platters of cold meat, country buffets and all relaxed meals.
